- Population data is typically based on the latest available census or UN estimates
- City lists may not include every settlement in a country
- Political boundaries and country names may change over time
- Currency information reflects official currencies; some countries may use multiple currencies
- Flag images are sourced from reliable repositories but may not reflect recent changes
Data Update Process
Our data update process includes:
- Automated API Synchronization: Regular synchronization with primary data sources
- Data Validation: Cross-referencing data from multiple sources when available
- Manual Verification: Periodic manual verification of critical data points
- User Feedback: Incorporating corrections from user reports
- Cache Management: Regular cache updates to ensure fresh data
Caching System
To ensure fast performance and reduce API load, we implement a caching system:
- Cache Duration: 1 hour for most data
- Cache Storage: Server-side file-based caching
- Cache Invalidation: Automatic expiration and manual refresh capability
- Performance Impact: Reduces API calls by up to 90%
